Pros: Warm, stylish, fits over my bum (yay!), attached hood, gorgeous colorCons: Pills, sheds and snags (boo!), shallow pockets in weird place, weak hang chainI had high hopes for this coat - this is the fourth year that I've been looking for a new winter coat that fits me properly. So when I tried this on, I almost cried with joy. It fits me perfect, just as I wanted; fitted on top but easily accommodates a sweater while roomy enough on the bottom to accommodate my rather generous bottom. The buttons keep the placket closed well, and I've never felt a draft even on the windiest days I've worn it.The joy lasted until I wore it for the first time. The material pills under the sleeves and along the side seams, sheds on my backpack (which is a black and white plaid so at least the color scheme works) and snags on everything from bushes to my key chain! After the first week of wear, it looked a year old. Also, the hang chain isn't strong enough to hold the weight of the coat, so don't use it. (I realized this immediately, but someone at karaoke night didn't and ... 'nuf said.)The pockets are in an awkward place. See that first fold of material in front? That's where they're hidden. Kind of far forward for convenience. They're also fairly shallow; I have trouble keeping my iPhone 5SE from falling out of it, but it does hold my key ring with car fob easily enough.Still, I'm keeping it becauseA) it fitsB) it's warmC) the price was rightD) despite all of the cons, I'm happy with it.The high low cut in the jacket is extremely cute. Fit was good but the materials are not as expected. The fabric is a very loose knit and it got pilly and started to catch on everything. The button are giant and sometimes hard to maneuver into button holes. Half of them actually fell off after two to three uses.I wear this coat daily. I have had this coat for about 2 months and it looks rough. I've lost multiple buttons, there is pulling, and there are so many loose threads. Very disappointing because I otherwise really like it! It's warm and the hood is large to cover your whole head without looking goofy. If I buy it again I'll have to get another coat for everyday and wear this one occasionally.Very nice jacket!! Much thicker than I imagined and quite heavy. Im a europen size 52/ 54 and us size 22 (wide hips). Size 2XL was perfect!! This jacket fits perfectly and arrived insanly fast across the water (less than 1 week). The red color is true to picture.Buttoms are lose and very big, i might change them for smaller red ones. Pockets are far down and in the front. Deep and nice though.The waistband is sturdy and long, hood falls stylish and dramatic. Very satisfied!I loved the coat. It fit very well and is quite heavy. I wore the coat for the first time in Manhattan in 20 degree weather and was very warm. It is well made and I received tons of complements. The buttons are loose, however after I sewed them on tighter I had no problems. The only thing that I didn't realize when I ordered the coat was that it was longer in the back than front. When I tried it on, it looked great. I am 5'8 and the waist sits a bit too high on me, but that's to be expected at my height. Otherwise, great investment. I expect to wear this for many seasons.Just like the other reviewers said....within a week, there were pulls all over, and looks shabby. I have been able to keep all of the buttons on by being really careful. Holes in the pockets within 2 weeks. Not the warmest- layering needed in colder weather. Very heavy though.? Despite the negatives, it is still a great design, and I get compliments on it every time that I wear it. The hood is amazing. If I purchased this from Mod Cloth for $150, I would have been livid. Quality could and should be better. Steve Madden should make this again with a tighter weave.This coat is beautiful! The fabric has an attractive texture to it and the navy color is classic yet different from traditional black. I purchased the 1x which fit beautifully, however, it is a bit tight in the arms for me. I have this problem with every coat I purchase, though, since I have larger arms. The coat would be too large everywhere else if I size up, therefore, I'm going to keep it. They really should update the photo using a plus sized model because it looks like a sack on this model which does not do this beautiful coat justice! It's actually very flattering to a plus figure!I really like this coat. I bought it in a plus size. The fabric has great texture but isn't as warm as I had hoped it would be. Winter has been brutal though, as low as 19 degrees. It is lined with a thin polyester scarf-like fabric. The fit is generous. For me maybe too generous from the waist down in the sides and back. I'm going to get it tailored since there is just too much fabric volume in the back over the hips and butt. I bought it in the winter white.Overall, a very nice looking coat. I have a large bust and usually take an XL in tops, so I ordered this in 1X and 2X, and ended up keeping the 1X. It's heavy in weight, but it's not terribly thick. I don't imagine it will be warm enough for extended periods outside in winter, but I was looking for something for those winter days when I'm going shopping or out to lunch - when I'm largely going to be indoors and therefore don't want to wear a parka. I think it will do nicely for that.Pluses:-Lots of room for a heavy sweater underneath, and I can still lift my arms, etc.-Colour is nice (I got the navy).-Cut is great. It flares out below the belt to a full skirt. The back is longer, coming to just above my knees. I tried it with a long (i.e., thigh-length) cardigan and it wasn't hanging out the bottom of the coat.-The huge, cloak-like hood is gorgeous.Cons:-The buttons are a little much for my taste - huge and bulbous. But I can always replace them if they bug me.- I have a large chest (40DDD) and I find that because of that, the belt hits high and can produce an empire waist effect, which isn't terribly flattering on my particular frame. So I need to be sure to tie the belt securely at my waist.- The pockets are placed a little oddly - I was actually afraid at first that it didn't have pockets at all. But once you find them (I think they're oddly placed, very close to the front as opposed to on the hips, because of the flare of the coat), they're nice and deep.This is maybe the prettiest winter coat I will ever own. My only issue with it. Is that the buttons are loose and are not lined up correctly. An easy fix with some thread and a needle.How could they make this coat without pockets!? Strangest thing. Other than that I like the coat. Sizing is correct, love the hood.Keeps me warm wish the pockets were at the sideGreat purchase. Lovely coat.The only downside, Material pills very quickly and easily.
