We got it delivered and then let it fill full of air for a couple of days. Then we put it on the bed. That night I got my first chance to try it out.It is a good product. Research shows that elevating the head of the bed a little more than 7 inches will stop acid reflux in most people. However, I have a severe case and it did improve it, but did not stop it. Consequently I had to continue taking some medicine to stop it.I bought the California king size. I noticed that my wife's snoring was reduced some by it. But it also seemed to be hotter than the original mattress. That could be fixed by putting the mattress on top.But I have decided that I would prefer to find a split California king size wedge and have it only on my side. My wife complained that she found herself sliding down to the foot of the bed. I did not have much trouble with that and have adjusted to it.I have a pretty expensive mattress but that will not help GERD. We purchased this as a topper and it is quite comfortable. The 7" may be a bit much as I slide to bottom of bed at night. I will say it has been a great help in my nighttime pain. Even my husband who is not diagnosed with GERD believes it helps him. Im thinking 5" may be a better height but I am glad to have this aid. Also, it does not make the bed appear weird - with the bedspread on it looks fine and the difference does not jump out at youAlthough it never reached 7", it is enough to elevate for acid reflux. I love that it covers the entire bed instead of a portion of it where my hips get sore from the angle. Since I sleep on my sides as well as my back the smaller wedge is not comfortable. The memory foam is a bit firm, however, it is not hot. All in all, I would highly recommend it.I was disappointed when I first unpacked this even as it returned to it's form I thought it wasn't thick enough to make a difference. After putting it between the mattress and the box spring it raised the head of the bed a good 5-6". Hard to say if it's making much of a difference for my daughter yet but it definitely isn't hurting.Bought this wedge to try to fix some gerd issues i've been having for a few years now. When I first got it I was mad because it didn't look like the wedge was a full 7 inches tall at the high end. After a few hours it expanded to near that size. I was still upset though because when you lay on it directly you seem to sink into it negating the incline. I put the wedge underneath my main mattress and that evened out the surface area and pressure so as to allow the incline to be present at all times. My throat feels much less irritated recently after using this so I would recommend getting it but ONLY if you are planning to put it under your main mattress.Works for snoring acid reflux but I always end up sliding 1/3 of the way down the mattress by morning. Trying to figure out a way to stay put.When used under the mattress, this product is way too yielding (presumably you like whatever firmness your mattress has; with this product, say goodbye the that). The slick surface allows the mattress to slide down, mispositioning the mattress and causing fitted sheets to constantly roll off. It started off as "not good" but also flattens quickly--just a handful of months of use and it's so soft it just dumps me off the side of the bed and needs to be replaced. One of is about 150 lbs so it's not like it's getting excess weight. It's simply not firm enough, the foam doesn't last and the cover prevents it (and your mattress) from staying put.We bought this wedge after I was diagnosed with acid reflux. We've only had it a few days, but so far we really like it. We decided to use it on top of the mattress because our mattress is about ten years old and really should be replaced, but now with this nice firm wedge, it feels like a new bed. It is a challenge to get a fitted sheet over both the wedge and our mattress. At the head of the bed it does not cover most of the mattress, but it is worth it if helps with the reflux.
